Men’s Basketball Players of the Week – February 16

IRVINE, Calif. – This week’s PacWest Men’s Basketball Players of the Week are Point Loma’s Hayden Lescault, Chaminade’s Frankie Eteuati, California Baptist’s Chris Brown, Dixie State’s Robbie Nielson and Academy of Art’s Jase Harrison. The awards are based on games played Feb. 9-15.
 
Co-Player of the Week – Hayden Lescault (Point Loma)
G, Sr., Folsom, Calif./Vista Del Lago
 
Lescault averaged 21.3 points on 70 percent shooting as Point Loma secured a spot in the PacWest Championship. He had 19 points, four assists and four steals against Hawai’i Hilo. He scored a season-high 27 points on 9-of-12 shooting, and added six assists, in the upset win over No. 13 BYU-Hawaii. Lescault is averaging 21.5 points per game in the last four games.
 
Co-Player of the Week - Frankie Eteuati (Chaminade)
F, Sr., Long Beach, Calif./Cathedral
 
Eteuati averaged 22.0 points on 72 percent shooting, 9.0 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals per game. He had 19 points and a season-high three steals against Dixie State. He recorded his first-career double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds, both career-high marks, and shot 10-for-13 from the field.
 
Co-Defender of the Week – Chris Brown (California Baptist)

Co-Defender of the Week – Robbie Nielson (Dixie State)
G, Jr., Gresham, Ore./Barlow
 
Brown and Nielson each averaged 3.5 steals on the week. Brown had a season-best six steals in the win over Chaminade. Nielson had four steals in Dixie State’s win over Chaminade and three more steals in the win over Hawai’i Hilo. Nielson ranks seventh in the PacWest in steals (1.6 spg) and Brown ranks eighth (1.4 spg).
 
Freshman of the Week – Jase Harrison (Academy of Art)
G, Fr., Palmdale, Calif./Northfield Mount Hermon
 
Harrison scored a career-high 18 points, and had six rebounds and three steals against Fresno Pacific. He shot 7-of-9 from the field, including two three-pointers. He is averaging 8.8 points per game as a starter in the last eight games.
