Women’s Basketball Players of the Week – March 2

IRVINE, Calif. – This week’s PacWest Women’s Basketball Players of the Week are Academy of Art’s Jasmin Guinn, Azusa Pacific’s Kelly Hardeman and Point Loma’s Roya Rustamzada. The awards are based on games played Feb. 23-March 1.
 
Player of the Week – Jasmin Guinn (Academy of Art)
G, Jr., Berkeley, Calif./Berkeley
 
Guinn guided the Urban Knights to three wins in Hawaii as they clinched the No. 5 seed in the PacWest Championship. She averaged 24.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game. She scored a career-high 28 points, making 10 field goals, and had four steals against Hawai’i Hilo. She closed out the season with her fourth double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds. The 5-foot-6 guard ranked 10th in the PacWest in rebounding (7.9 rpg).
 
Defender of the Week – Kelly Hardeman (Azusa Pacific)
F, Jr., Manila, Philippines/Faith Academy
 
Hardeman turned in a great all-round game in the season-finale win over Fresno Pacific. She logged 14 points, 17 rebounds, three steals and two blocks; as APU held FPU to 49 points and 25 percent shooting. The double-double was her 14th of the year, the third-most in the conference.
 
Freshman of the Week – Roya Rustamzada (Point Loma)
F, Fr., Temecula, Calif./Great Oak
 
Rustamzada earned sixth weekly award, averaging 19.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game. She turned in her third double-double against Notre Dame de Namur with 18 points and 10 rebounds, along with five assists and a career-best four steals. Rustamzada averaged 13.3 points per game in the final eight contests of the year.
