Madison Higgins (Fresno Pacific),
Joel Feigler (Hawai’i Pacific) and
Kiree Hutchings (Fresno Pacific). The awards are based on games played Dec. 28-Jan. 3.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Madison Higgins (Fresno Pacific)
G, Sr., Los Angeles, Calif./Santa Monica College
Higgins led FPU to its third-straight win, as the Sunbirds scored a season-best 97 points against Life Pacific. He scored a career-high 28 points, with seven of his nine field goals coming from three-point range. He also added three rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block. Higgins ranks fourth in the PacWest in three-pointers per game (3.0) and has made 12 triples during the Sunbirds’ current winning streak.
DEFENDER OF THE WEEK
Joel Feigler (Hawai’i Pacific)
F, Sr., Las Vegas, Nev./Durango
Feigler further cemented his position as one of the top big men in the conference in HPU’s final non-conference win over Viterbo (Wis.), blocking four shots and scoring 12 points in just 17 minutes of action. Feigler leads the PacWest and ranks 22
nd in the nation in blocks per game (2.4 bpg), and has nine total blocks in the last two games.
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Kiree Hutchings (Fresno Pacific)
G, Fr., Santa Cruz, Calif./Santa Cruz
Hutchings earned his second weekly conference honor with his performance against Life Pacific. He matched his career-high with 11 points, shooting 5-for-8 from the field, and handed out a game-high five assists with no turnovers.
