2016 All-PacWest Men's Soccer

IRVINE, Calif.
– The 2016 All-PacWest men’s soccer team and awards were announced on Wednesday, following a vote by the league’s coaches. Dixie State led the conference with eight All-PacWest selections and three individual awards.
 
Sven Koenig (Hawai’i Pacific) was named PacWest Player of the Year. Koenig led the PacWest in points (46), goals (21) and shots (102). He scored in 13 of his 17 games, and ranked second in the nation in goals per game (1.24) and points per game (2.71). A two-time PacWest Player of the Week, he notched three hat tricks on the season, all against PacWest opponents. He had seven points against Holy Names with three goals and an assist.
 
Bryan Baugh (Dixie State) was named PacWest Defender of the Year and Bradley Trella (Dixie State) was named PacWest Goalkeeper of the Year. The duo anchored a Trailblazer defense that allowed 14 goals, the fewest in the PacWest, for a 0.77 goals against average, the 12th-best in the NCAA, and had eight shutouts.
 
Trella repeated as the conference’s top goalie, leading the PacWest in goals against average (.895) and save percentage (.810). He had four shutouts to become Dixie State’s career leader with 13 in just two seasons. He made a season-high nine saves in an overtime win versus Notre Dame de Namur.
 
Baugh earned his third-career All-PacWest honor, his first on the first team. He registered seven points with one goal and four assists, becoming Dixie State’s career leader in assists (12).
 
Moises Medina (Dixie State) was named PacWest Freshman of the Year. He led the Trailblazers with 18 points on six goals and six assists, ranking tied for sixth in the PacWest in that category. He scored five game-winning goals and earned PacWest Player of the Week for his goal and two assist performance against defending PacWest champion Fresno Pacific.
 
Miguel Mendoza (Concordia) was named PacWest Newcomer of the Year. He debuted in the PacWest for his senior season, playing a huge rule for the Eagles as a center midfielder. He scored two goals, including the game winning penalty kick in a 5-4 overtime win over Notre Dame de Namur.
 
Chris Gould (Concordia) was named PacWest Coach of the Year. He led the Eagles to an 11-5-2 record and a 10-3 mark in the PacWest to take second place. The Eagles scored 42 goals on the season, leading the PacWest and ranking second in the region with 2.33 goals per game.
 
Dixie State led the PacWest with eight All-PacWest selections, including five on the first team. The Trailblazers won their first PacWest title with a perfect 13-0-0 record. Concordia earned six honorees, and California Baptist and Notre Dame de Namur each had five. Tyler Allen (Point Loma), Jorge Chedraui (Fresno Pacific) and Erik Kemsies (Hawai’i Pacific) finished their careers as four-time All-PacWest honorees.
