IRVINE, Calif. – This week’s PacWest Men’s Basketball Players of the Week are
Petar Kutlesic (Azusa Pacific),
Brian Chambers (Concordia) and
Luka Radovic (Academy of Art). The awards are based on games played Dec. 5-11.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Petar Kutlesic (Azusa Pacific)
F – Jr. – Uzice, Serbia/Lee Academy
Kutlesic led APU to a 104-103 overtime win against Dixie State with 31 points, 18 rebounds and three blocks. He notched career-highs in both points and rebounds for the highest double-double in the PacWest this season. He shot 11-for-18 from the field and 8-for-12 from the free throw line. He scored five of the Cougars’ 11 points in overtime. Kutlesic ranks third in the PacWest in rebounding (8.6 rpg), eighth in field goal percentage (48.8%), 15
th in scoring (15.3 ppg).
DEFENDER OF THE WEEK
Brian Chambers (Concordia)
G – So. – Long Beach, Calif./Fresno City College
Chambers led Concordia to two conference wins, averaging 14.5 points, 5.5 steals and 4.5 assists per game. He had a career-high six steals against Fresno Pacific and five steals against Point Loma; the top-two single-game performances in the PacWest this season. Concordia forced 41 turnovers and scored 44 points off turnovers in the two games. Chambers leads the PacWest in steals (26) and is second in steals per game (2.4).
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Luka Radovic (Academy of Art)
F – Fr. - Cacak, Serbia/Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary
Radovic helped Academy of Art to a pair of conference wins on the week. He averaged 10.5 points per game and collecting seven rebounds and three blocks. He matched his career-high of 15 points in 7-of-11 shooting against Holy Names, and had four rebounds and two assists.
