Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards – Feb. 15

IRVINE, Calif. – This week’s PacWest Women’s Basketball Players of the Week are Jasmin Guinn (Academy of Art), Maggie Dumphy (Azusa Pacific) and Janessa Manzano (Hawai’i Pacific). The awards are based on games played Feb. 8-14.
 
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jasmin Guinn (Academy of Art)
G, Sr., Berkeley, Calif./Berkeley
 
Guinn earned her fifth conference weekly award of the season. She averaged 20.0 points, 11.5 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 3.0 steals per game in two wins that kept ArtU in first place in the PacWest. She had her 10th double-double of the season with 17 points and 14 rebounds, along with seven assists, against Concordia. She had three steals in both games, giving her 21 games this year with at least three steals. She leads the PacWest and is fourth in the NCAA in the category (3.7 spg).
                                                                                                                                       
DEFENDER OF THE WEEK
Maggie Dumphy (Azusa Pacific)
C, Jr., Westminster, Calif./Westminster
 
Dumphy earned her second conference defensive honor, registering six blocks and two steals in APU’s 77-61 victory over Point Loma.  APU held Point Loma to 34 percent shooting and 20 points in the paint. She added nine points and six rebounds. Dumphy has 12 games this season with at least three blocks and ranks second in the conference in the statistic (2.8 bpg).
 
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Janessa Manzano (Hawai’i Pacific)
G, Fr., San Francisco, Calif./St. Ignatius
 
Manzano had the best two-game stretch of her first season, averaging 15.5 points per game in two HPU wins. She scored 16 points in the overtime win over Chaminade and 15 points in the win over NDNU. She was 10-for-13 at the free throw line on the week.
