Golf Weekly Awards – Sept. 29

IRVINE, Calif. – This week’s PacWest Golfers of the Week are Oscar Frick (Academy of Art) and Kendel Hodges (California Baptist). The awards are based on events played Sept. 22-28. (NOTE: No women’s teams competed on the week.)
 
MEN’S CO-GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Oscar Frick (Academy of Art)
Jr. – Stockholm, Sweden/Fredrika Bremer
 
Frick finished in a four-way tie for second place at the 45th Annual WWU Invitational at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club. He carded a 4-under 212 in the three-round tournament, just one stroke off the winner. He shot a 71 in each of the first two rounds, and followed with a 70 to move up six spots on the leaderboard. He had three birdies and an eagle over the final 18 holes.

Kendel Hodges (CBU)
Fr. – Temecula, Calif./Great Oaks
 
Hodges came in fourth place at the Western New Mexico Fall Intercollegiate at the Golf Club de Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz. He carded an even-par 216 in his collegiate debut. He shot a 74 in the first and second rounds on Monday. He then shot a 4-under 68 in the third round on Tuesday, with five birdies and only one bogie. His big third round helped CBU comeback to win the team title with an 881.
