PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Hannah Rose Balke (Academy of Art)
RHP – Fr. – Oak Park, Calif./Oak Park

Balke singlehandedly shutdown Notre Dame de Namur in a doubleheader sweep on Friday. She threw 10.0 innings without allowing a run, a hit or a walk, and struck out eight. She entered in the sixth inning of the first game, with the score tied 1-1 and a runner on second, and kept the Argos from scoring with two strikeouts and a ground out. Over the next four innings, her only glitch was a hit batter and she recorded four more strikeouts. Art U won the game on a single by Gracie Sotomayor in the 10th. Balke started the second game and threw a no-hitter with two strike outs in an 8-0 five-inning win. It was the first no-hitter against a DII opponent in program history and she was one hit-by-pitch away from a perfect game. Balke is second in the PacWest in strikeouts (42) and third in wins (8).
