Women’s Track & Field Weekly Awards – March 22

IRVINE, Calif. – This week’s PacWest Women’s Track & Field Athletes of the Week are Zoe Scott-Goss (Concordia), Sarah Stafford (Concordia), and Folke Woch (Academy of Art). The awards are based on competition from March 13-March 19.
 
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Zoe Scott-Goss (Concordia)
Jr.- Santa Clarita, Calif./Sierra Canyon Upper School
 
Scott-Goss showed versatility at the Ross and Sharon Irwin Collegiate Invitational at Point Loma over the weekend, winning the 100m dash, long jump, and helping to her team a first place finish in the 4x100m relay.  In the 100m, Scott-Goss finished first overall with a time of 12.19.  Coming in first among collegiate competitors, her long jump measured 5.86m and earned a provisional qualifier mark.  She was also a part of Concordia’s 4x100m relay that took first with a time of 47.68.

Sarah Stafford (Concordia)
So.-Atascadero, Calif./Atascadero
 
Stafford earned her second weekly honor this week after dominating the shot put at the Ross and Sharon Irwin Collegiate Invitational.  Her throw of 14.14m was enough to win the event by a whole three meters and earned a provisional qualifier mark. She placed second among collegiate competitors in the hammer throw with a distance of 44.64m.

Folke Woch (Academy of Art)

In just her second heptathlon competition of the year, Woch moved up to fifth in the country with a total of 4,878 points over two days at the Hornet Invitational. She finished fourth of 21 among competitors in the event and highlighted the performance with a 39.79m throw in the javelin to further the ART U program record.
