Men’s Track & Field Weekly Awards – April 19

IRVINE, Calif. – This week’s PacWest Men’s Track & Field Athletes of the Week areMobolade Ajomale (Academy of Art) and Corey Reid (Azusa Pacific). The awards are based on competition from April 10-16.
 
TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Mobolade Ajomale (Academy of Art)
So.-RS – Richmond Hill, Canada
 
Ajomale continued to improve on his top times at the Mt. SAC Relays. He ran a season-best 20.85 in the 200m to take third overall behind Oregon and unattached runners. It was the third-fastest time in DII this season. He ran the anchor on the 4x400m relay team, which ran the third-fastest time in ART U history (3:12.04) good for seventh in the nation as his second NCAA provisional of the weekend.
 
FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Corey Reid (Azusa Pacific)
So. – Carson City, Nev. – Carson City
                                        
Reid earned an NCAA automatic qualifier in the decathlon at the Mt. SAC Relays/California Invitational last week. His personal-best score of 7,367 was the third-best in DII this season. He had 4 PRs in 10 events over 2 days, competing in the Mt. SAC Relays section of the meet, setting new personal-bests in 100-meter dash, 110-meter hurdles, long jump, and javelin. Reid was the runner-up in the decathlon in the indoor season, behind teammate Shakiel Cattoo. Eight of Division II's top 14 decathlon scores, including all of the top-four, all came from the Mt. SAC Relays & California Invitational.
