Nicolas Herrera (BYU-Hawaii) and
Sterling Hawkins (Academy of Art). The awards are based on events played March 30-April 5.
MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Nicolas Herrera (BYU-Hawaii)

Herrera led No. 10 BYU-Hawaii to its second-consecutive team victory at the Mustang Intercollegiate at the Palm Valley Golf Club. He finished fourth individually with an 8-under par 208 (70-67-71), just two strokes behind the leaders. He had 14 birdies in the first two rounds, and his 67 in the second round was tied for the third-lowest of the tournament. He carded seven more birdies in the third round to move into the top-five. BYU-Hawaii has won its last two tournaments, taking home the CBU Lancer Invitational title last month.
WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Sterling Hawkins (Academy of Art)
Jr. – San Jose, Calif./Willow Glen
Hawkins won her second weekly conference honor after winning her second-career individual title at the Sonoma State Spring Invitational at Foxtail Golf Club. She carded a 7-over par 151 (74-77) to share the title with Sonoma State’s Haley Whitbeck. She shot a 74 in the first round, putting her in a tie for second place, and held onto the top-spot with a 77, highlighted by four birdies. Hawkins has placed in the top-7 in seven of her last eight tournaments.
