D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award Given To 655 PacWest Athletes

D2 ADA 2016-17 Academic Award Winners

CLEVELAND -- For the second consecutive year, the PacWest saw a boost in the total number of athletes from member institutions being recognized with the Division II Athletic Director Association's Academic Achievement Award with 655 student-athletes receiving the honor.

California Baptist led all PacWest schools with 99 honorees, including 11 from the women's soccer team. Azusa Pacific followed with 72 student-athletes recognized with the award, while Point Loma, Dixie State and Biola each had 61 award-winners.

The requirements to receive the honor are to have a 3.5 grade-point average or better on a 4.0 scale, have attended a minimum of four semesters and have been an active member of the team in the last academic year. A total of 10,644 Division II student-athletes were recognized this year.
