IRVINE, Calif. – Two weeks before the PacWest Championships for cross country, several PacWest teams competed in the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational. Biola led all PacWest runners in both the men’s and women’s races to earn all four weekly honors.
 
WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY

RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Emily Ransom, Biola
Sr. – Shoreline, Wash./Shorewood HS/Kinesiology
Ransom raced in the Women’s 6k Open at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational and took 8th place with a time of 21:58.8, which was the fifth-best finish among NCAA Division II runners. She led Biola to a fourth-place team finish despite two of the Eagles’ best runners competing in the invitational. Biola has now finished in the top four at all four races this season.
 
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Clara Haynes, Biola
Fr. – Yuma, Ariz./Gila Ridge HS/Nursing
Haynes competed in the Women’s 6k Invitational al the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational. The freshman finished the race in 21:48.9 to claim 76^th place out of 209 runners that were mostly from NCAA Division I teams.

Gabe Plendcio, Biola
Jr. – Ramona, Calif./Ramon/History
Plendcio took sixth place at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational, covering the 8k course in 23:59.1, which was the third-best time among NCAA Division II runners. Biola finished in 10th place out of 20 teams, with the second-best result for an NCAA Division II team. In four races this season, only three NCAA Division II runners have finished ahead of Plendcio.

Brady DeHaven, Biola
Fr. – San Diego/Granite Hills HS/Business Administration
DeHaven completed the 8k course at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational in 25:01.3 to take 72^nd place out of 176 runners. The freshman was the second runner from Biola across the finish line, helping Biola take 10^th place as a team.
