Kim, Posledni Tie For Second Place At Mikuni Sushi Shootout

IRVINE, Calif. -- Point Loma's Alli Kim and Academy of Art's Iveta Posledni tied for second place at the Mikuni Sushi Shootout in Lincoln, Califonria, on Tuesday to earn recognition as the PacWest Co-Golfers of the Week.

Five PacWest teams competed in the Mikuni Sushi Shootout, which features some of the top teams in the West Region each year. Academy of Art had the best team finish of any of the PacWest teams, taking second place with a score of 32-over-par 608, edging Cal State Monterey Bay by a single stroke. Anahi Servin joined Posledni in the top-10 with a score of 5-over-par 149 to finish alone in tenth place.

Holy Names, Point Loma and Hawai`i Pacific also finished in the top 10 out of 13 teams. Sophia Young had a score of 15-over-par 159 to finish in a tie for 27th place, leading Holy Names to an eighth-place team finish. Lexandra So was the leader for Hawai`i Pacific, which took 10th place as a team. She shot a 23-over-par 167 to finish in 48th place out of 72 golfers.

Posledni tied for second place at the Mikuni Sushi Shootout with a score of 1-over-par 145, leading Academy of Art to a second-place team finish. The sophomore opened the tournament with a 1-over-par 73 in the first round and followed that up with an even-par 72 the next day. She finished just one stroke behind first place.

Kim earned her third-consecutive PacWest Golfer of the Week recognition and fourth already this season as she tied for second place at the Mikuni Sushi Shootout. She shot a 1-over-par 145 to finish a stroke behind first place. After the first round, Kim was tied for first place with a score of even-par 72 before she had a 1-over-par 73 in the second round to equal the top score by a PacWest athlete.
