IRVINE, Calif. – This week’s PacWest Golfers of the Week are Gabriel de Leon Manotoc from Academy of Art, Jake Quast from Dominican and Sofia Young from Holy Names.
MEN’S CO-GOLFER OF THE WEEK

Gabriel De Leon Manotoc helped Academy of Art finish in seventh place as a team after recording an individual score of 6-over-par 222. He finished in a tie for fifth place in the tournament. The junior was tied for second place after the first round as he recorded an even-par 72 to open the event. In the final two rounds, he went 3-over-par 75 both times as he was one of three Urban Knights to finish in the top 25.

Jake Quast, Dominican

Quast tied for fifth place at the NDNU Argonaut Invitational as he led the Penguins to a third-place finish. Quast finished with a score of 6-over-par 222 in the tournament. He opened with a 5-over-par 77 at Poppy Ridge Golf Course. The second round was the best for both Dominican as a team and Quast individually as he shot an even-par 72 before finishing the tournament with a 1-over-par 73 in the third round.
WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Sofia Young, Holy Names
Fr. – Benicia, Calif./Kinesiology
Holy Names finished in 13th place out of 17 schools at the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational. Young led the Hawks with a top-20 finish. The freshman finished with a score of 9-over-par 153 as she tied for 18th place overall. Young improved on her first-round score by three strokes in the following round with a 3-over-par 75. It was the 13th-best score of the second round out of the 94 competitors in the event.
