IRVINE, Calif. -- On Monday morning, the NCAA announced the bracket for the NCAA West Regional, and Concordia earned the No. 1 seed and will host half of the regional.
 
The Eagles will host San Francisco State, Western Oregon and Concordia (Ore.) as the four teams compete for a spot in the West Regional final series. Concordia (Ore.) qualified by winning the GNAC tournament, earning an automatic bid and keeping both Azusa Pacific and Hawai`i Hilo out of the playoffs.
 
In the final week of the regular season, Academy of Art wrapped up its 2019 season on a positive note, extending its winning streak to six games. The Urban Knights completed its sweep of Dominican with two shutout victories, 4-0 and 2-0.
 
Hannah Rose Balke and Cecilia Lopez threw the two shutouts to improve to 18 combined wins between the two pitchers. Lauryn Henderson wrapped up the 2019 season with a .802 slugging percentage for the Urban Knights. She became just the sixth player in PacWest history to finish a season with a slugging percentage over 800 as she finished with a 1.302 OPS.
 
Azusa Pacific and Biola split their Thursday doubleheader with Biola winning the first game 1-0 in extra innings. Paige Austin threw the shutout, allowing just five hits with 10 strikeouts. In the nightcap, Melanie Abzun drove in three runs to lead the Cougars to a 4-3 win. That helped the Cougars hold onto the third-place spot in the PacWest standings.

CO-PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Melanie Abzun, Azusa Pacific
OF, Sr., 5-10 -- Lake View Terrace, Calif.
Abzun recorded a double, triple and home run for Azusa Pacific in its season-ending split with Biola. The senior went 2 for 3 with a triple and home in the final game of her collegiate career, recording three RBIs and one run to lead the Cougars to victory. Abzun also recorded a double in the first game of the doubleheader. She wrapped up the season with a .331 batting average to go along with seven home runs and 41 RBIs. She finished the regular season tied for the third most home runs in the conference.
 
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Paige Austin, Biola
P, So., 5-5 -- Los Alamitos, Calif.
Austin threw a five-hit shutout against Azusa Pacific in the final doubleheader of the season for the Eagles, who wrapped up conference play with a 19-11 record. The sophomore earned her 11th win of the season as she threw eight shutout innings with 10 strikeouts and only two walks. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Austin stranded a runner on third base with a strikeout to send the game into extra innings. After Biola scored its first run of the game, Austin retired the side in order to secure the 1-0 victory in extras.
 
FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
Kathryn Caravalho, Dominican
P, Fr., 5-8 -- Santa Clara, Calif.
Caravalho wrapped up her freshman season with 11 consecutive shutout innings for the Penguins. The freshman threw a complete-game shutout against Holy Names in an 8-0 win. She scattered five hits and one walk with two strikeouts. In the season finale, she took on one of the hottest lineups in the PacWest when the Penguins faced Academy of Art. Caravalho threw five shutout innings in relief with only one hit allowed as she brought her ERA down to 4.37.
