HONOLULU -- At the 2019 PacWest Executive Meetings, four schools were honored with different awards for their performances away from the field of competition. At the conclusion of the meetings Point Loma Nazarene University President
Bob Brower was honored for his time as the chair of the the presidents.
Academy of Art received recognition, earning the Diversity Award for the first time since earning the recognition also in 2014. The award honors a PacWest school that shows its commitment to diversity through its community engagement.
For the fourth year in a row, Holy Names won the Make-A-Wish Award, which is handed to the school that raises the most money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Holy Names raised nearly $10,000 for the foundation through their annual Hawk Mania wrestling event.
The final award was given to Fresno Pacific, which was the overall winner of the Community Engagement award. It is the fourth time that the Sunbirds have won the community engagement competition and the second year in a row.
