PHOENIX, AZ - Grand Canyon senior midfielder Mitchell Garcia (Avondale, AZ/Agua Fria) has been chosen the Pacific West Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.

The honor was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Oct. 17, for games played Oct. 10-16.

Garcia led the Antelopes to a 2-0-0 mark by scoring two goals and adding an assist in a five-point week.

He posted a goal and an assist in Grand Canyon’s 4-1 victory over NDNU on Oct. 15.

He also scored the game-winning goal in a 3-0 victory vs. Dominican (CA) on Oct. 10.

PacWest Men’s Soccer Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll

Tyler Aagard - California Baptist (Jr., 6-1, 175, D, San Jose, CA/The King’s Academy)...scored game-winning goal on Oct. 15 at Chaminade...broke a 1-1 tie at 54:26 to give the Lancers a 2-1 victory.

Justin Allen - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., 5-9, 150, F, Centerville, UT/Viewmont)...scored two goals and added an assist in 3-0 shutout win at Hawai‘i Hilo on Oct. 13...assisted on game-winner...scored two insurance goals...finished week with five points.

Leonardo Bartelle - Academy of Art (So., 5-10, 170, F, Caxzas do Sul, Brazil)...scored two goals and totaled four points in 6-4 victory over Dominican (CA) on Oct. 15.

Demetrius Beauchamp - BYU-Hawaii (Fr., 6-3, 170, D/M, San Francisco, CA/Gateway)...had an assist and a goal just 47 seconds apart in 5-0 victory over Chaminade on Oct. 13...finished game with three points.

Alex Connally - Grand Canyon (Jr., 6-0, 185, M, Warrington, England)...helped Antelopes to a 2-0-0 week by scoring two goals and amassing four points...scored game’s third goal in 4-1 victory over NDNU on Oct. 15...also scored a goal in 3-0 win vs. Dominican (CA) on Oct. 10.

Patrick Heinemann - Academy of Art (So., 6-1, 160, M, Bergisch Gladbach, Germany)...had a goal and two assists in 6-4 victory over Dominican (CA) on Oct. 15...amassed four points in the contest.

Adam Garcia - Grand Canyon (Sr., 5-11, 165, GK, Avondale, AZ/Westview)...helped Antelopes to a 2-0-0 week by halting 8 of 9 shots on goal...registered a 3-0 shutout win vs. Dominican on Oct. 10...earned a 4-1 victory over NDNU on Oct. 15...posted an .889 save percentage and a 0.50 goals against average over 180:00 of action during the week.

Nyle Ortiz - Dixie State (Sr., 5-11, 165, M/F, Layton, UT/Layton)...scored two goals and totaled four points in a 1-1 week for the Red Storm...scored game-winner on penalty kick in 2-0 victory at Hawai‘i Hilo on Oct. 15...tallied lone goal in 2-1 loss vs. Western Washington on Oct. 11.

Saeed Robinson - Grand Canyon ( Jr., 5-9, 155, F, Portmore, Jamaica)...scored two goals, including the game-winner, in 4-1 victory over NDNU on Oct. 15...registered four points in the victory...GCU posted a 2-0-0  week.
