Men’s Cross Country Runners of the Week – Sept. 30

IRVINE, Calif. – This week’s PacWest Men’s Cross Country Runners of the Week are Academy of Art’s Valentin Pepiot and Azusa Pacific’s Jeremy Porter. The awards are based on races held Sept. 22-28.

Runner of the Week – Valentin Pepiot (Academy of Art)
Sr., Besancon, France

Pepiot turned in a remarkable performance at the Stanford Invitational, finishing sixth overall in a field of 362. He ran a 4:47 pace in the 8k course to finish with a time of 23:43. His performance earned him the USTFCCCA National Division II Athlete of the Week honor on Monday.

Freshman of the Week – Jeremy Porter (Azusa Pacific)
Fr., Lake Forest, Calif./El Toro

Porter was the top PacWest freshman finisher at the Stanford Invitational. He finished 96th overall in a time of 25:10, shaving nearly a full minute off his collegiate debut two weeks prior. He posted the second-best time among APU competitors.
