Cekala, Souza Reach Career Goals Milestones

IRVINE, Calif. -- The PacWest title chase still involves five teams with just one week left in the season in what is certain to be an exciting finish. Biola, Hawai`i Pacific, Azusa Pacific, Point Loma and Concordia are the teams fighting for a chance to lift the trophy.

Azusa Pacific controls its own destiny with the ability to win the title by winning its final two matches against Fresno Pacific and Biola this week. Last week, the Cougars got a crucial win over Point Loma in which James Ndubueze scored twice for a 2-0 win.

Biola can clinch at least a share of the PacWest title by winning its only remaining match, which will be a Saturday evening contest against Azusa Pacific. The Eagles split their results last week to remain in first place.

Hawai`i Pacific has one match left, which will be at Hawai`i Hilo on Thursday. The Sharks need a win in order to remain in contention for the PacWest title. They would also need Azusa Pacific to win or tie against Biola while also not beating Fresno Pacific.

Point Loma needs to win both of its final two matches this week against Dominican and Concordia in order to have a chance to win the title. The Sea Lions also need Biola to win or tie against Azusa Pacific. In the event of a tie for first place between Biola and Point Loma, the Sea Lions would own the tiebreaker.

Concordia also needs to win both of its remaining matches in order to have a chance to win at least a share of the title. The Eagles would also need everything to go just right in the other matches this week.
