TEAM OF THE WEEK: Point Loma Sea Lions
Point Loma ran against some of the top teams in the Pacific Northwest in Salem at the Charles Bowles Invitational (hosted by Willamette University). The Sea Lions placed seventh among the 23 teams, defeating a number of Division I schools in the process. Other than the team champion College of Idaho, who is ranked No. 3 nationally in the NAIA, the only teams to finish ahead of Point Loma were Division I teams. After Aubrie Nex's 11th place finish, the next Sea Lions in order on the 5K course were Elizabeth Satterlee (18:21), Madeline Reeves (18:27) and Rylie Burns (18:37). "The women had a great race in Salem," head coach Landon Bright said. "It was the first time we've raced a few of our top runners, so the team looked a little more complete. Our top four were fairly close together, so our focus now will be to bring that fifth runner a little closer."
