3.10 SPECIAL COMMITTEES REPORTING TO THE ADVISORY BOARD
3.10.1 Ad Hoc Committee for Appeals (AHCA) shall be a standing committee appointed by the Conference Commissioner. The committee shall be composed of one individual from each active member institution with no less than two FARs, two Athletic Directors, two SWAs and a compliance officer. The duties of the Committee are to assist the Commissioner with appropriate appeals regarding decisions made by the Commissioner or other Conference special committee. Meetings shall be either in person, by phone, email or video Conference. A committee member shall recuse himself or herself from participating in decisions (e.g., representing his or her institution or deliberating as a committee member) when he or she is directly connected with or impacted by the involved institution or another member of the Pacific West Conference. The timeline of the committee’s recommendations shall be determined by the Commissioner. The ad hoc Committee on Appeals shall not recommend harsher penalties than those originally determined by the Commissioner or other conference committee. All decisions made by the AHCI are final.
