8.5   QUESTIONS CONCERNING VIOLATION OF CONFERENCE RULES

8.5.1          A grievance regarding alleged violation of Conference rules or of conduct detrimental to the welfare of the Conference may be filed by any member institution against another member by the institutional representative or by the Conference Office.
 
8.5.2          A written complaint must be filed with the Commissioner and must include a written description of the alleged incident or violation and all other relevant facts.
 
8.5.3          Written notice shall be given to the institutional Executive or Athletic Administrator of the alleged offending institution by the Conference office.
 
8.5.4          Copies of the written complaint shall be forwarded by the Commissioner to the institutional representatives of each member institution.
 
8.5.5          The Commissioner shall place the complaint on the agenda of the institutional representatives at the next official meeting for a review of the complaint.
 
8.5.6          The member placing the complaint shall present evidence to support its charges at the review, and the accused member shall have equal opportunity to reply to the charges.
 
8.5.7          Following the review, the Commissioner and Advisory Board may rule by an affirmative vote of a simple majority of those voting whether the evidence is sufficient to justify                            disciplinary action. The institution bringing the complaint and the institution against which the complaint is filed shall not vote on motions to determine adequacy of evidence.
