8.6 DISCIPLINARY ACTION WITH REGARD TO CONFERENCE RULES VIOLATIONS
8.6.1 When the Advisory Board has determined the adequacy of the evidence as prescribed above, action may be applied as indicated in subsequent paragraphs.
8.6.2 A member institution may be suspended by an affirmative vote of all of the members, with the offending member not voting.
8.6.2.1 In case of a vote of suspension, there shall be suspension of the member from all Conference standings and consideration for championships.
8.6.2.2 All contractual and Conference obligations must be fulfilled during the period of suspension.
8.6.2.3 The period of the suspension shall be determined by a majority vote of the membership, with the offending member not voting.
8.6.3 A member institution may be expelled from the Conference by a three--quarters affirmative vote of all of the members.
8.6.3.1 The effective date of the expulsion shall be determined by a majority vote of the members, with the offending member not voting.
8.6.3.2 In case of expulsion from the Conference, the expelled member may, after the expiration of one academic year, apply for re--admission to the Conference in the same manner as any other non-- member institution.
8.6.4 In addition to the action, which may suspend or expel an institution, the institutional representatives may vote to impose any other penalty deemed appropriate upon the affirmative vote of all members, with the offending member not voting. Notice of the reason for the disciplinary action and the action imposed by the Conference shall be sent to the chief executive officer and the institutional representative of the offending institution by the Commissioner and shall include a request for information regarding corrective measures to be taken to prevent recurrence of the violation.
