3.1 GOVERNANCE
The Conference values a collaborative and collegial decision--making environment in the Conference governance structure.
3.1.1 The Conference is governed by the Chief Executive Officers (i.e. President/Chancellor/CEO) of the member institutions, who act as the Executive Board.
3.1.2 The Executive Board bears the ultimate responsibility for governance of the Conference.
3.1.3 The Conference shall have an Advisory Board, which consists of Athletic Directors. The Advisory Board offers recommendations to the Executive Board.
3.1.4 The Conference shall have a Commissioner, who is appointed by and reports to the Executive Board. The Commissioner serves the membership as the Chief Administrative Officer of the Conference.
3.1.5 Amendments to the Conference Constitution and Bylaws recommended by the Advisory Board must be ratified by the Executive Board and become effective upon the designated effective date.
3.1.6 The Conference may have an Operations Code and Sports Regulations to help with administration. Amendments to the Conference Operations Code and Conference Sports Regulations become effective immediately upon Advisory Board approval or upon the designated effective date.
3.1.7 Recommended changes to any Conference legislation may originate from stakeholder committees. (See Article III of the Pacific West Conference Operations Code).
