2.4.   MEMBERSHIP  PROCESS

 
2.4.1          Letter of interest is sent to Conference Commissioner.
 
2.4.2          Letter of interest is forwarded by the Conference Commissioner to the officers of the Executive Board.
2.4.3          A formal application (located in Appendix F) must be submitted to the Conference Commissioner from the President/Chancellor/CEO of the applicant institution. The deadline date for receiving a new member application to the PacWest is 30 days prior to NCAA membership application deadline. The Executive Board may set an earlier application deadline date.
 
2.4.4.     The application material provided may include scholarship levels, sponsored sports, athletics mission statement, strategic plan, admissions policy, resources for academic support, past year budget, facilities, compliance operations and staff, and an institutional organizational chart. Application material is reviewed by the Executive Board, Commissioner and Advisory Board.
 
2.4.5          A site visit is conducted. Following the site visit and material review, the Advisory Board may make recommendation for review by the Executive Board.
 
2.4.6          A final review by the Executive Board may make recommendations for action on the application.

2.4.7          The Executive Board votes to approve or deny institution’s application for membership. The Executive Board shall notify the Commissioner, and the Commissioner or Executive Board Chair shall subsequently notify the applicant institution.
 
2.4.8          For a new NCAA prospective member institution, the conference Executive Board may offer a conference letter of intent to the applicant, contingent upon the applicant’s acceptance into the NCAA II membership process. A conference letter of intent states the intentions of the conference membership to invite the applicant into the conference.
 
2.4.9         The Conference reserves the right to terminate or grant an extension to an applying institution subject to its Conference and/or NCAA status
