It was 30 years ago that the Pacific West Conference was born out of a merger between the Great Northwest Conference and the Continental Divide Conference to form a new multi-sport NCAA Division II conference. Over those 30 years, the PacWest has gone through many changes with Chaminade being the only school to have membership in the conference for all 30 years. Throughout its history, the PacWest has been a geographically diverse conference with schools from Hawai`i to Alaska to Montana to New Mexico and in cities like San Diego, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle. During the 2022-23 athletic year, the PacWest is celebrating 30 years of intercollegiate competition since its inception in 1992.
