Wayne Coito is a graduate of Vassar College where he double majored in economics and computer science and competed on the men's volleyball team.

In August 2007, he began an internship with the PacWest as a special assistant to the new commissioner, Bob Hogue.  He would later take on the title of information specialist before assuming the position of director of compliance and external affairs in August 2008, eventually serving as media relations specialist, overseeing production and hosting PacWest Magazine The Television Show

In June 2009, Coito participated in the first ever Division II Governance Council at the NACDA convention in Orlando, FL, representing the PacWest. In September 2011, Coito began a four-year term on the NCAA Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee, one of only three representatives from Division II and the only member west of the Mississippi.

Coito currently serves as the host of PacWest TV, which can be viewed on YouTube.

He is a member of the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association and National Association for Athletics Compliance.

Coito also currently serves on the NCAA LGBTQ Subcommittee of the Joint MOIC and NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics and sits on the NCAA Matching Fund for the Advancement of Ethnic Minority Women Coaches and Officials selection committee.
