INDIANAPOLIS -- For the second time in three seasons, Chaminade has been selected to compete in the NCAA West Regional which will be held this year in San Bernardino, California, on December 3-5.
Chaminade is the No. 3 seed at the tournament and will face No. 6 Central Washington in the first round. If the Silverswords advance, they will face the winner of No. 2 Western Washington and No. 7 Simon Fraser. Times of the match will be announced later this week.
The Silverswords faced Central Washington earlier this year in Bellingham, Washington, and defeated the Wildcats in five sets. Chaminade won the first two sets in that match. Central Washington won the fourth set 28-26 to force a deciding set, which Chaminade won 15-12 to take the match.
This is Chaminade's fourth trip in program history to the NCAA postseason. The Silverswords' best finish was reaching the second round in 2004 by beating Cal State LA in three sets.
