Chaminade had a busy week on the road, and came away with a 4-0 mark and the opportunity to continue their season into this week at the NCAA tournament. Abigail Nua of Point Loma continued her sensational freshman season and is the final Player of the Week, while another freshman, Bri Bellfi of Biola, earned Defender of the Week honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Point Loma’s Abigail Nua, OH, 5-10, Fr., Lakewood, Colo.
Freshman sensation
Abigail Nua is the Player of the Week for the fourth time this season. In the Sea Lions’ finale at home against Azusa Pacific, Nua put down 27 kills, hitting .404 in the process. She also had a season-high 20 digs and four service aces in the four-set win over the Cougars. Earlier in the week she had 16 kills in a loss to Biola. On the season, the Colorado native, who redshirted in 2021, led the PacWest with 469 kills (4.51 per set) and 535 points (5.14).
DEFENDER OF THE WEEK: Biola’s Bri Bellfi, L/DS, 5-4, Fr., Murrieta, Calif.
Biola won twice in the final week of the regular season, thanks in part to freshman back row specialist
Bri Bellfi. In a 3-1 win over Point Loma, Bellfi had a season-best 26 digs and also had eight assists. In a five-set marathon with Concordia on Saturday, she added 23 digs and a pair of service aces for the Eagles, who finished the season 17-10 overall and 14-6 in the PacWest.
CHAMINADE CLINCHES ON THE ROAD: The PacWest Team of the Week is the
CHAMINADE SILVERSWORDS, who went 4-0 in northern and central California last week and clinched the PacWest Championship for the second consecutive year. They dropped one set (Holy Names) and swept Academy of Art, Dominican and second-place Fresno Pacific. The Silverswords head into the NCAA West Regionals with a 24-7 overall record, winning the PacWest by four games (19-1) over FPU and Point Loma (15-5).
