CO-TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Academy of Art's Ajani Ince, Sprints, 5-9, Jr., Barbados
Academy of Art's Ajani Ince blitzed to a couple of top five NCAA marks last weekend in San Diego County. First on Friday at CS San Marcos, the fourth-year Urban Knight raced to a time of 20.77 in the 200 meters, the second fastest time in the Academy of Art record books and also the second swiftest clocking in NCAA Division II this season. The native of Barbados won the 200 at the Mangrum Invitational by nearly half a second over the next nearest racer. He also won the 100 meters in 10.53. On Saturday at Point Loma, Ince flashed to a time of 10.38 in the 100, winning that race at the PLNU invite ahead of 27 other sprinters. That was a personal best for him, tops the NCAA provisional mark and ranks fifth on the 2024 NCAA Division II list.

CO-TRACK  ATHLETE OF THE WEEK: Azusa Pacific's Juan Diego Castro, distance, Jr., San Jose, Costa Rica
Azusa Pacific's Juan Diego Castro was too good to not be included in this week's Track Athlete of the Week discussion. The junior transfer from Oklahoma State sprinted to a time of 3:40.93 in the 1,500 meters at the Mangrum Invitational at CS San Marcos, winning the race in a deep field and also establishing an NCAA provisional mark. It was the second fastest time in Azusa Pacific track and field history and was also the 12th fasted ever in the NCAA Division II record books. Diego Castro topped 94 other runners in the field and set his own personal best in the event. His 3:40.93 is just a moment behind the top mark in the country this year, 30:40.83.
