MONMOUTH, Ore.—Concordia’s Noah Plaza raced to a sixth place finish at the 2025 NCAA West Region Men’s Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning at Western Oregon University’s Ash Creek Preserve.
That placing for the Golden Eagle senior is the highest crossing at a regional race in Concordia school history. Plaza crossed the finish line on the 10-kilometer course in 29:41 in a race won by Chico State’s Damien Garcia (29:26).
Biola was the top PacWest team, finishing in seventh place (206 points). Defending champ Chico State was first (75), followed closely by Western Washington (88) and Cal Poly Pomona (97).

th (317),
Fresno Pacific 14
th (346) and
Westmont was 15
th (379).
The race was run on the campus of Western Oregon University, under cloudy skies and 52 degrees (with wind gusts).
Leading Biola to a seventh place slot was PacWest champ
Melt von Melondorff, who finished 16

The top three teams automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships on November 22 in Kenosha, Wisc. NCAA at-large berths will be announced early next week. The top three men's and women's regional finishers receive an automatic bid to nationals, with a complicated formula determining the remaining 10 at-large berths from across the eight NCAA Division II regions.
