Jessup, Vanguard Take Big Leap in NCAA Membership Process

Warriors and Lions skip another provisional year and are eligible in 2025-26 for PacWest and NCAA postseason play

INDIANAPOLIS -- Provisional Pacific West Conference members Jessup University and Vanguard University have been accepted into full NCAA eligibility, beginning with the start of the coming 2025-26 seasons.

The Warriors and Lions are two of only four schools in the membership process across the country that were promoted and allowed to jump their final year of eligibility probations with the NCAA waiver. Both schools will now be immediately eligible for all PacWest championship tournaments and NCAA postseason play beginning September 1.

Additional benefits of Jessup's and Vanguard's full membership include voting rights on proposed NCAA rules and legislation, as well as access to the complete catalog of NCAA branding assets. Student-Athletes will now be eligible for NCAA All-American honors, and both schools will be eligible for regional and national rankings.

"This has been a 'team sport' and we are excited to now compete as full members of the NCAA Division II due to the hard work and dedicated efforts of our Athletic staff," said Jessup University President Dr. John Jackson.

"Vanguard University's transition to NCAA Division II is an extension of the values and commitments that we have to excellence, to the character of our students, and to a competitive greatness that has manifested for generations in Vanguard Athletics," said Michael J. Beals, Vanguard President.

Current PacWest member Westmont received the waiver a year ago and competed officially this past season, giving the PacWest three members to bypass the full membership process.
