One of the Nation's Top Soccer Conferences Begins Play Sept. 4

The Pacific West Conference, represented by four squads in the 2024 NCAA tournament will kick things off in just over two weeks.

One of the top women's soccer conferences in NCAA Division II will jump into the 2025 slate very soon, with eight teams kicking off their schedule on September 4.

The Pacific West Conference, which sent four teams to postseason play last Fall, will begin non-conference play just after the Labor Day weekend.  You can view the full schedule for PacWest teams, which includes a robust non-conference slate, here.

Defending PacWest champion Point Loma opens on Sept. 4 in Seattle against Seattle Pacific. 2024 runner-up Hawai`i Hilo will host Chico State to launch the season on Sept. 5, while fellow NCAA Division II playoff squad Concordia begins on Sept. 6 at CS San Bernardino. Azusa Pacific, who finished fifth last season in the loaded conference but qualified for the NCAA tournament, will take on national champion Cal Poly Pomona on that Saturday.

Those four squads, who claimed four of the six west region playoff spots in 2024, went a combined 56-13-7 last year. Point Loma, who won the 2023 NCAA title, lost in the west region title match last year (2-1) to the national champion Broncos.

2024 featured the first-ever PacWest Championship tournament, which the Sea Lions also won with a thrilling 3-2 overtime victory over Hawai`i Hilo. By virture of that title, Point Loma will host the 2025 championship tournament in San Diego, Nov. 13-15.

For just over three weeks, PacWest teams will play a tough slate of non-conference matches before conference play officially begins on Sept. 24 when Hawai`i Hilo travels to Dominican. Each school will play ten conference matches through November 8, leading into the second annual PacWest Championships on Nov. 13 and 15 in San Diego.
