SANTA BARABARA, Calif.—Concordia, kept off the scoreboard on Wednesday in a 3-0 loss to Fresno Pacific, remedied that with a lot of runs on Thursday morning in an elimination game against host
Westmont.
The Golden Eagles kept their season alive with a 12-3 win over the Warriors, advancing to this afternoon’s 4 pm game against the loser of the 12:30 game between Point Loma and Fresno Pacific.
Wyatt Madison pitched seven strong innings with 13 stikeouts and the Golden Eagle offense put up crooked numbers in four of the nine innings to roll to the win. Westmont, the #4 seed, sees their season come to a close at 29-21.
CUI used some help to put three runs on the scoreboard in the first inning. Three walks, an error and a wild pitch contributed to the rally, and the Golden Eagles needed just one hit to plate their runs.

Madison was lights out to that point before running into some trouble in the seventh. Westmont’s
Jesse Di Maggio hit a two-run homer and
Bobby Lague hit a solo shot to make it 8-3. Madison left the contest after seven full innings and just two hits, three runs, three walks and the 13 punch outs.
