Securing the second highest all-sports grade point average in conference history,
Point Loma Nazarene University is the winner of the 2025-26 Pacific West Conference Academic Achievement Award.
The Sea Lions had a 3.59 GPA this year, the second highest all-time GPA since the PacWest began presenting the award in 2007-08. Only Dominican’s classroom work of 3.62 in 2020-21 is higher.
Either
Point Loma and
Dominican have won the last ten PacWest Academic Achievement awards, at an even five each, and they shared the prestigious honor last year.
This was of course Point Loma’s highest score, taking into account all of their men's and women's teams that play within the PacWest footprint of 15 sports.
The Sea Lions, also the Bob Hogue Commissioner’s Cup winner for their championship finishes on the courts and fields, had the highest women’s overall GPA (3.67) and second highest male (3.48), only to Dominican’s 3.50. Point Loma also had the highest overall men’s team GPA (men’s tennis, 3.89) and highest overall women’s team (tennis, 3.87).
The award was first handed out in 2008. Dominican remains the all-time leader by a large margin with 12 Academic Achievement awards. Point Loma now has five, the only PacWest institution other than BYU Hawaii (two) to win more than one.
The results take into account every student-athlete's cumulative grade point average for the team and sport that they competed in 2025-26.

Point Loma in overall GPA was
Vanguard (3.54),
Dominican (3.51),
Menlo (3.49) and
Chaminade (3.48).
Gender specific,
Point Loma had the top GPA for women's sports at 3.67, followed closely by
Biola (3.61), Menlo (3.56), Chaminade (3.56) and
Dominican (3.51). For the men,
Dominican led the way
(3.50), followed by
Point Loma (3.48), Menlo (3.46), Vanguard (3.40), Azusa Pacific (3.38) and
Chaminade (3.38).
