Tyson Miller and Dixie State’s
Tanner Morache. The awards are based on games played March 16-22.
Co-Player of the Week – Ryan Garcia (Point Loma)
1B, So., Oceanside, Calif./El Camino
Garcia powered Point Loma to a four-game sweep of Academy of Art, extending its winning streak to seven games. He batted .412 (7-17) with three doubles, five RBI and four runs scored. He went 3-for-4 with three RBI in the second game of the series. He is third in the PacWest in doubles (10) and seventh in RBI (20).
Co-Pitcher of the Week – Kevin Lillicrop (Point Loma)
RHP, So., Cypress, Calif./Cypress
Co-Pitcher of the Week – Tyson Miller (Cal Baptist)
RHP, So.. La Quinta, Calif./Shadow Hills
Lillicrop and Miller both threw dominant complete games on the week. Miller threw his second-consecutive complete game against Hawai’i Pacific, allowing just one unearned run and six hits. He has struck out 14 total in his last two starts. Lillicrop gave up just one run on five hits and struck out eight against Academy of Art. He has allowed just one run in his last 15.0 innings pitched.
Newcomer of the Week – Tanner Morache (Dixie State)
SS, Jr.-RS, Surrey, Canada/Surrey
Morache led Dixie State to a sweep of Holy Names, hitting .500 (8-16) with eight runs scored and three RBI. He had multiple hits in three games, including a 3-for-3 performance in the finale. He is fourth in the PacWest in hits (38) and batting average (.392).
