2015 All-PacWest Baseball Team
IRVINE, Calif. – The 2015 All-PacWest Baseball Team was announced by the league office on Monday. California Baptist led the league with 11 honors, including two individual awards. Dixie State earned nine, including three individual awards.
CBU junior
Antonio Chavarria was named PacWest Player of the Year. The first-team All-PacWest third baseman led the PacWest in hits (78) and ranked second in batting average (.406) and on-base percentage (.471), third in home runs (9), and fourth in RBI (46) and slugging percentage (.625). Chavarria moved back to third base after playing first last year and recorded 24-multi hit games. He recorded a seven-hit performance in a doubleheader sweep of Dixie State, hitting four doubles and a home run, and driving in seven. Chavarria is the third-consecutive top player from Cal Baptist (Zach Esquerra, Andy Crowley).
Fresno Pacific senior
Wilson Ashford was named the PacWest Pitcher of the Year. Ashford led the PacWest with a 1.69 ERA, allowing only 15 earned runs (the fewest in the league) in 79.2 innings pitched. He was also second in wins (9) and eighth in strikeouts (73). The preseason pitcher of the year twice struck out 12 batters in a game. He became FPU’s career-leader in wins and strikeouts this season.
CBU senior
Andy Crowley was named the inaugural PacWest Defender of the Year. He was the Lancer’s starting centerfielder and made 12 appearances as a relief pitcher, with his only error on the season coming on a failed pickoff attempt. He made 99 putouts and nine assists. A three-time All-PacWest First Team honoree, Crowley also hit .332 with 26 RBI and 40 runs scored; and recorded five saves and didn’t allow an earned run as a reliever.
Dixie State freshman
Dylan File was named the PacWest Freshman of the Year. File posted a 5-1 record with a 2.95 ERA (10
th in the PacWest) and 39 strikeouts. He allowed the second-fewest runs in the league (22). He tossed his first-career complete game against Academy of Art, surrendering just one unearned run, and then struck out a career-high eight at Fresno Pacific in the following start.
Dixie State junior
Tanner Morache was named the PacWest Newcomer of the Year. After redshirting in 2014, Morache ranked fourth in the PacWest in batting average (.385), hits (72) and runs (45). A three-time PacWest Newcomer of the Week, Morache recorded 22 multi-hit games on the year.
Dixie State’s
Chris Pfatenhauer repeated as PacWest Coach of the Year. He guided Dixie State to its second-consecutive PacWest title and fourth-consecutive NCAA Regional appearance. After starting the season 0-7, Dixie State won 25 of its next 26 games, including a 20-1 record in PacWest play.
CBU led all teams with nine All-PacWest selections, while Dixie State and Azusa Pacific each had six. Ashford, Crowley and Dixie State’s

Evan Parker were all repeat first-team selections.
