WALNUT, Calif. – The PacWest suffered three losses at the NCAA Baseball West Regional on Saturday, knocking two teams out of the field. Azusa Pacific will play in an elimination game Monday, while Cal Baptist and Dixie State were both eliminated.
APU will face UC San Diego on Monday at 11 a.m. in an elimination game. The winner will advance to play Cal Poly Pomona for the regional title at 3 p.m.

CBU lost to Cal Poly Pomona in the first game of the day, 6-4. CBU built an early 3-0 lead, but the Broncos scored three runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth.
John Taurinsky hit a pair of RBI singles. CBU finished the season with a 31-22 record.

Dixie State was shutout by UCSD, 7-0, to end its fourth-consecutive postseason run. The Red Storm were held to just three hits.
Aaron Pope took the loss, allowing five runs in 4.1 innings pitched. Dixie State finished its season with a 32-19 record.

In the nightcap, Azusa Pacific took its first loss of the regional, 6-2, to Cal Poly Pomona. After scoring 31 runs in the first two games of the regional, APU was held without an extra-base hit for the first time all season.
