WALNUT, Calif. – The 2015 PacWest baseball season came to a close on Monday, as Azusa Pacific lost to UC San Diego, 5-3, at the NCAA Baseball West Regional. The Cougars came one game shy of the regional title game in the first NCAA postseason appearance.
 
APU entered the ninth inning down 5-1 and battled to bring the tying run to the plate. A fielder’s choice and a wild pitch scored two Cougar runs. With a runner on second base, a groundout to third ended the APU rally and the game. Blake James hit a solo home run in the first inning.
