Shubin, Kruetzer Among Leaders At Concordia Invitational In Portland

IRVINE, Calif. – The PacWest had some of the top individual performers at the Concordia Invitational leading to the Golfer of the Week awards. Julius Kruetzer from Academy of Art won the men’s tournament and Dominican’s Claire Shubin took second place after the first-place tiebreaker in the women’s tournament.

Shubin took second place at the Concordia Invitational with a score of 5-over-par 149 at the Riverside Country Club. Shubin was tied for second place after the first round with a score of 1-over-par 73. In tough conditions in the second round, the freshman shot a 4-over-par 76 to move into a tie for first place at the end of the tournament. Dominican took sixth place out of 10 teams with a score of 68-over-par 644.

Kreutzer won the Concordia Invitational by two strokes with a score of 5-under-par 208 at Columbia Edgewater Country Club. The junior opened the tournament with an impressive 5-under-par 66 in the opening round and held onto that lead for the rest of the tournament. He shot a 1-under-par 70 in the second round and held onto his massive lead to win the tournament. Academy of Art took fifth place as a team with a score of 18-over-par 870.
