FRESNO, Calif. -- The PacWest Championships are set to begin on Wednesday and all eight seeds are in place for the action in Fresno on March 2-5 with Point Loma being the No. 1 seed in the tournament.

The Sea Lions won the PacWest title for the second time and will face Chaminade in the first round on Wednesday night at 7:15 p.m. (Pacific). The winner of that game will face the winner of the 5 p.m. game between Academy of Art and Fresno Pacific, which will be a rematch from the regular season finale.
Chaminade and Point Loma split their meetings during the regular season with Point Loma going on an 11-game winning streak after the loss to the Silverswords. Academy of Art and Fresno Pacific also split their regular season meetings with the Urban Knights winning in overtime in Fresno on Saturday night.
The other half of the bracket is led by No. 2 seed Azusa Pacific, which was just a half-game behind Point Loma in the standings at the end of the regular season. The Cougars will get No. 7 seed Hawai`i Hilo, which is making its tournament debut. Tipoff will be at 2:45 p.m. The winner of that game will face the winner of the 12:30 p.m. game between No. 3 Biola and No. 6 Concordia.
Concordia enters Wednesday's contest on a three-game winning streak, which is the second longest active streak in the conference, but Biola won both regular season meetings between the two teams. When Azusa Pacific and Hawai`i Hilo square off for the third time this season, the Cougars will have a 2-0 head-to-head advantage in the series this year.
The semifinal games will be played at 12:30 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. on Friday with the Saturday championship being played at 2 p.m. Point Loma is the tournament's two-time defending champion, and Chaminade is the only other team in the tournament this year that has won before. The Silverswords won as the No. 5 seed in 2014 when the tournamnet was hosted by Point Loma.
