Azusa Pacific and Point Loma improved to 4-0 in PacWest play with a pair of wins each. Eiley Tippins helped the Sea Lions to the pair of wins with a total of 16 rebounds, 18 points, five blocks and five steals for Defender of the Week. Chaminade is 2-0 in PacWest play, which includes a big rivalry win over Hawaii Pacific, led by Player of the Week Sameera Elmasri's 27 points and game winning free throws.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Chaminade's Sameera Elmasri, F, Sr., 5-10, Shawnee, Kansas
Chaminade's Sameera Elmasri helped her team reach new heights with a 73-69 win over Hawai`i Pacific. The senior forward put up 27 points, which included nailing a clutch 10-of-11 free throw attempts in the win. The senior forward's free throws with 38 seconds left helped seal the victory for Chaminade, just their second against the Sharks in the last 17 years. The 27 points was a career high for Elmasri, a second-year Silversword whose previous collegiate best was 24 while at Birmingham Southern. The Kansas native, who hit 8 of her 16 shots against HPU, is now averaging 18.7 points a game.
DEFENDER OF THE WEEK: Point Loma's Eiley Tippins, C, Jr., 6-2, Tahoe Vista, Calif.
Point Loma's Eiley Tippins' work on both ends of the court, especially on defense, helped the Sea Lions improve to 4-0 in PacWest play with victories over Biola and Concordia. The 6-foot-2 Tippins had 16 total rebounds, five blocked shots and five steals for her team. She had a near double-double against the Eagles with ten points, nine rebounds in a 65-50 win, and added eight points and seven boards in the 51-47 edge of Concordia. She had three blocks and three steals against the Golden Eagles. It was the fifth all-time PacWest Defender of the Week award for Tippins, which is tied for second all-time in the conference.
TEAM OF THE WEEK: The
Azusa Pacific Cougars are the PacWest Team of the Week. The Cougars improved to 4-0 in conference play and 9-1 on the season with a 73-57 win over Concordia and a 72-65 win over Westmont.
Amayah Kirkman had 18 points against Concordia, and
Audrey Sayoc had 16 points and eight assists against the Warriors.
Kelly Heimburger added 16 points and Kirkman had 15 and eight rebounds in the seven-point win. APU's only loss this season was a one-point setback to CS Los Angeles, and the Cougars are outscoring their opponents by a PacWest best 13.8 points per game.
THIS WEEK: 16 games dot the schedule this week, a combination of conference and non-conference games to wrap up the 2024 part of the schedule (all Division II teams take mandatory time off from Dec. 22 to Jan. 1). Chaminade will travel to the mainland to take on Menlo, Dominican and the Academy of Art this week, while Fresno Pacific goes to Westmont for a Wednesday game.
