Three PacWest Teams Stay in Postseason Contention

Azusa Pacific (4), Point Loma (6) and Concordia (8) are the PacWest reps in this week's women's soccer west region ranking.

INDIANAPOLIS—Azusa Pacific, Point Loma and Concordia stayed afloat in this week's (Nov. 12) NCAA West Region women's soccer ranking.

Azusa Pacific is fourth (they were second last week), while Point Loma (sixth) and Concordia (eighth) held serve to say in their same spots.

There are nine total teams in the ranking. Ultimately, the conference tournament champions from the PacWest, the GNAC and the CCAA will gain automatic NCAA tournament berths, and the next four teams selected will come from this final list for a seven-team tournament. The No. 1 seed will get a first round bye.

The PacWest tournament begins tomorrow (Nov. 13) with No. 1 seed and regular season champ APU playing No. 4 seed Dominican. No. 2 seed Hawaii Hilo will take on No. 3 Point Loma. Concordia was just one standings point away from making the conference tournament, but with their eighth place standing here, can still potentially make the NCAA tournament with some help from others in the conference tournaments this week.

The NCAA Selection Show will be on Monday, Nov. 17.

Here is today’s list (Nov. 12), with records against Division II teams listed.
1. Cal Poly Pomona (14-1-3)
