Jessica Harbison Weaver, Commisioner of the Pacific West Conference for the past two years, is stepping away from the position effective July 15.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jessica for her leadership and her many years of service to the PacWest," said Gayle Beebe, Westmont College President and Chair of the PacWest Executive Board. "We wish her every success going forward."
Harbison Weaver joined the PacWest in May 2020 as the Associate Commissioner and Senior Woman Administrator. She was promoted to the conference's Senior Associate Commissioner and Senior Woman Administrator in July 2022, overseeing compliance and select sports and championships. She became the Commissioner in July of 2023 when Bob Hogue retired.
“When I was hired as commissioner I had several large-scale goals I wanted to achieve—I could have never imagined blowing them out of the water in just two years," Harbison Weaver said.. "Together the conference put on the first Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships; we put the conference all on the same digital network to drive revenue to our institutions; increased championship revenue to offset rising costs for the conference office; got a volleyball championship approved; right-sized our championships; launched a championship-specific merchandise portfolio; got a new strategic plan approved; and enhanced the student-athlete experience in ways too numerous to count.
"I’m a builder at heart, but I’m looking forward to enjoying some time off before moving on to my next opportunity to help another organization dream big. I wish the PacWest the best of luck moving forward.”
An announcement will be made shortly regarding the search for a new Commissioner.
