Westmont won the RCA Electric by a whopping 12 strokes, led by Ashley Chang who earned medalist honors with a two-round +5 score. Hawaii Pacific’s Isabella Iorio was second at +6, and she also won the Falcon Invitational in Washington the week before.

Westmont’s Ashley Chang won the RCA Electric this week in Monterey to help pace the Warriors to the tournament title. Chang, a freshman, carded a two-round score of +5 to edge fellow PacWest opponent
Isabella Iorio of
Hawaii Pacific. Chang had rounds of 73 and 74, and on the final day she scrambled to the title with five birdies. It was a tournament victory in her very first collegiate tournament for the Colorado native.

Hawaii Pacific’s Isabella Iorio had a great mainland trip with a second-place finish in Monterey and a championship title in Washington at the Falcon Invitational. At Menlo’s tournament, the sophomore finished at +6 with rounds of 72 and 76, just one shot back of
Westmont’s Ashley Chang. In Kent, Wash. at Seattle Pacific’s tournament, the San Diego native won by five strokes with a +4 score with rounds of 75 and 73.
TEAM OF THE WEEK: Westmont Warriors
Westmont won the RCA Electric in Monterey at the Pasadera Golf Club. The Warriors finished at +34, which turned out to be a 12-shot advantage over runner-up Oregon Tech. The Warriors posted a +23 round on the first day and then came to the course on day two to pull away from the field with a sizzling +11 score. After

Noelle Thompson in fourth place (75-74),
Hannah Camara in fifth (79-73) and
Mallory Hopper in 11
th (154). In three tournaments this Fall, the Warriors have finished second twice and now have a first-place trophy as well.
PACWEST NEWS AND NOTES: Dominican and
Hawaii Pacific tied for third at the RCA Electric with scores of +53.

Madi Whitney at +11 and
Faith Guevara at +12….The week previous in Seattle,
Hawaii Pacific won the five-team Falcon Invitational with a team score of +36. The Sharks were 22 shots ahead of host Seattle Pacific, with
Hawaii Hilo next at +60. After medalist

Giuliana Rovetti finished fourth (+10) and
Hawaii Hilo’s Jaylen Wan was fifth (+11).
LOOKING AHEAD: Westmont will host the Westmont Invitational next week (Oct. 12-13) at the Sandpiper GC in Goleta.
Jessup, Point Loma, Dominican and
Hawaii Hilo will join the Warriors for the two-round tournament.
