Point Loma demolished the field at the Wasatch Invitational in Utah, taking down the 14-team field by 14 strokes. 2026 PacWest Player of the Year Annika Yturralde was the medalist with a two-round -3 score for Player of the Week honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Point Loma’s Annika Yturralde, Sr., 5-2, La Mesa, Calif.                                      
Point Loma’s Annika Yturralde helped lead the Sea Lions to the Wasatch Invitational trophy with a medalist performance. The senior had rounds of 70 and 71 to run to the title (-3) in a field of 14 Division II teams from across the west and southwest.  The 2026 PacWest Player of the Year had seven birdies over the two days, including five in the first round and won the title by two shots over a trio of players tied at -1.

TEAM OF THE WEEK: Point Loma Sea Lions                                                                                                   
Point Loma won the Wasatch Invitational at the Glenmoor GC in South Jordan, Utah by a whopping 14 strokes over second-place Westmont. The Sea Lions finished at +1 as a team with three golfers in the top five—Annika Yturralde (see above), Estibaly Garcia (-1) in second place and Summer Schafer (even) in fifth. It’s the second consecutive week for the Sea Lions to win Team of the Week, after they finished third last week at the RJGA Shootout in Arizona.

PACWEST NEWS AND NOTES: Westmont fared very well in Utah as well, placing second in a 14-team field from six states. The Warriors finished at +15, 12 shots better than host and third-place Westminster. Westmont had three players in the top 12, led by Hannah Camara (+2), Cooper Gilmore (+3) and Ashley Chang (+4)…Vanguard was ninth at the Wasatch (+42), led by Karis Haltom (+6)…Jessup’s top player in Utah was Natalie Ang at +10…Meanwhile in the state of Washington, Hawaii Hilo and Hawaii Pacific shared fifth place at the Grisham Memorial Shootout, hosted by St. Martin’s at the Home Course. Both squads finished at +38. The Sharks’ Isabella Iorio placed sixth in the 12-team field with a +3 score and Hilo’s Kaliee McKee tied for seventh at +4. Oregon Tech and Seattle Pacific tied for the team title at +15.

LOOKING AHEAD: Hawaii Hilo will play in the Friday-Saturday Falcon Invitational, hosted by Seattle Pacific in Covington, Wash. On Monday-Tuesday, Dominican and Westmont will be at Menlo’s RCA Electric Invite in Monterey.
