Sea Lions, Golden Eagles Move Up

Point Loma and Concordia climb regional volleyball ratings.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.--Heading into the final week of the regular season, both Point Loma and Concordia moved up in the NCAA West Region NPI ratings.

The Sea Lions moved from sixth to fifth, after listing at tenth just two weeks ago. Concordia lept from eighth to sixth, while Biola checks in at No. 8 and Hawaii Hilo is 11th. This past week, Point Loma, Biola and Concordia all won twice to clinch PacWest tournament berths, which is slated for November 13-14 in Costa Mesa.

Fresno Pacific, who is 23-0, is on top of the rankings with CSU San Bernardino second, Central Washington third and Cal Poly Pomona fourth. That top four is the same from the week previous.

2026 marks a way to calculate the weekly rankings, which in the past was tabulated by a ratings committee. Now a National Power Index (NPI) will produce the list that eventually will determine what teams qualify for the NCAA postseason. To read more about NPI, click here.

Ultimately, the conference tournament champions from the PacWest, the GNAC and the CCAA will gain automatic NCAA tournament berths, and the next five teams selected will come from this final list for a eight-team tournament.

Here is the top 11 for Monday, November 2.
