Menlo wrapped up the 2025-26 season on a high note, taking out Chaminade and Vanguard in a pair of one-point games. Hawaii Pacific’s Joshua West had a pair of games for the ages, hardly missing a shot in compiling 31 and 39 points, and Jessup’s Cayden McDaniel put a pair of double-doubles for Defender of the Week.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Hawaii Pacific’s Joshua West, G, Sr., 6-3, Chicago, Ill.
Hawaii Pacific’s Joshua West shot an astounding 25-of-29 (86 percent) from the field on his way to 31 and 39 points respectively on the road. He helped lead the Sharks to a major upset over conference champion Point Loma, hitting 11 of 13 shots from the floor. He poured in a PacWest high 39 points in a narrow 3-point loss to Concordia, missing just two shots from the field (14 of 16)--both 3-point attempts. He also had 5 steals in the contest. Overall, he hit 8-of-10 shots from three-point range and had eight steals in the two games.
DEFENDER OF THE WEEK: Jessup’s Cayden McDaniel, G, Soph., 6-3, Tacoma, Wash.
Jessup’s Cayden McDaniel is the Defender of the Week, putting up double-double numbers on both ends of the court to help the Warriors go 1-1. In a overtime loss to Vanguard, the Washington native had 24 points and 11 rebounds and in a 93-80 victory over Chaminade, the sophomore guard had 22 points, 12 rebounds, five steals and four assists. For the week, he had 23 total rebounds, 22 of them on the defensive end, and six steals.
TEAM OF THE WEEK: The
Menlo Oaks ended the 2025-26 season with a pair of exhilarating one-point victories, defeating Chaminade 99-98 and Vanguard, 72-71. Against the Silverswords in a topsy-turvy game, the Oaks trailed by 17 and actually had a 19-point lead at a different point in the game.
Nick High had 31 points, seven boards and was perfect from behind the arch (3-3) and the free throw line (6-6).
Kai Brown added 20 points. Brown had 24 points in the narrow win over playoff bound Vanguard and High had 15 and only missed a few shots as the Oaks overcame a 12-point halftime deficit for the win. Coming into the week, Menlo had just three wins and a 11-game losing streak, but they finished with two victories and a 5-17 conference mark.
