Hawaii Pacific went to Texas and came away with a pair of victories, topping Texas A&M Kingsville and No. 12 nationally ranked St. Mary’s, then came to California to knock off Menlo. Tereza Noah went unbeaten (6-0), winning two of her singles bouts in three sets.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Hawaii Pacific’s Tereza Noah, Fr. Brno, Czech Republic
Hawaii Pacific’s Tereza Noah posted a perfect 6-0 record in doubles and singles during a road swing through Texas and California. The freshman played at No. 1 and 2 doubles, winning all three matches. At No. 2 singles, the Czech native topped Texas A&M Kingsville’s Andrea Landaeta 7-6 (7-5), 3-6, 10-5. Against St. Mary’s TX, Noah won on court two in doubles with
Willow Dmkowski (6-2) and then went the distance again at No. 2 singles before taking out Selina Wu, 6-1, 5-7, 6-4. She won in straight sets on Monday against Menlo.
TEAM OF THE WEEK: Hawaii Pacific Sharks
Hawaii Pacific picked up two very impressive road wins in the Lone Star state, topping Texas A&M Kingsville 6-1 and St. Mary’s 5-2, and then stopped at Menlo on the way back for a 6-1 victory. Against No. 12 St. Mary’s, the Sharks won two of the three doubles matches for the one point and then had to battle on the singles courts, winning three-set matches on courts one and two (
Evi Roobol and
Tereza Noah). HPU lost tough three-set battles to the Rattlers on courts three and five, but clinched the match with straight sets victories by
Annika Hakovirta and
Kaia Sperry. Against the Javelinas, the Sharks won all three doubles matches but again had to go the distance on the top two courts with Roobol and Noah. Hakovirta won in three sets as well while
Kaleigh Castillo, Lynn Kader and
Willow Dymkowski picked up straight set wins. HPU is now 8-2 on the season, with their only losses coming to DI opponents.
ITA NATIONAL RANKINGS: Azusa Pacific is ranked No. 15 in the March 3 ITA national poll, with
